Basements accumulate problems. They are the part of a house most often finished by a previous owner without permits, most exposed to water infiltration, and most likely to hold pre-1990 materials behind newer surfaces. Stripping one back is rarely as simple as it looks on the first walkthrough.
We survey before quoting: what is structural, where the services run, whether there is evidence of past water damage, and what the finishes are likely to contain. Drop ceilings and stud walls hide a great deal — including, regularly, asbestos-containing pipe insulation and vermiculite.
The work itself covers full or partial removal of finished surfaces, framing, flooring and fixtures, down to the level you need. Where hazardous material is found it is abated under containment before general demolition proceeds. You get back a dry, clean, structurally sound space with a clear record of what was removed.
